This symbol, or Galdrast, first became known in the 19th century through the Huld Manuscript. There are no sources that Vegvisir originates from the Viking Age, yet it has become one of the primary symbols of Asatruism.
It is claimed that Vegvisir contains the runes Gebo, Mannaz and Thurs, but no one knows for sure that this is so.
