The hammer of Thor is perhaps the greatest symbol of the asatru and was worn by both men and women. They were already worn during the Vendel period, but became more important after the arrival of Christianity in Scandinavia. They simply wanted to show that they stuck to the old faith.
Gere and Freke are Odin's companions. Gere means "the greedy" and Freke "the voracious". Odin used to give his wolves all the food served to him in Valhalla as he himself preferred wine and mead. In mythology, the two wolves are said to have taken care of and nurtured the first two humans, who were created by Odin. He told them to learn from Gere and Freke's values: love, wisdom, courage and caring for everyone in the herd.
