Necklace with Vegvisir surrounded with Celtic circle
Necklace with Vegvisir surrounded by Caim.
“Caim” is an old Irish word meaning shelter or sanctuary and is shown as a circle in a Celtic pattern.
The Vegvisir symbol is today strongly associated with the Vikings and Asatru. While there is no evidence that it was actually used by the Vikings, and was only mentioned in writing in 1860, it has nevertheless become entrenched in Norse mythology as a Viking compass or guide.
Vegvisir is an Icelandic rune that directly translates to "If this sign is worn, one will never lose one's way in storms or bad weather, even when the path is unknown."
