Thor is the Asa god who owns the hammer Mjölner. In Norse mythology, Thor called forth thunder and lightning when he was drawn across the firmament in his chariot, drawn by the goats Tanngnojst and Tanngrisner, and threw his hammer.
The symbol Vegvisir is today strongly associated with the Vikings and asatron. Since there is no evidence that it was actually used by the Vikings, but was only mentioned in writing in 1860, it has nevertheless been anchored in Norse mythology as a Viking compass or guide.
Vegvisir is an Icelandic rune age which directly translates to "If this sign is worn, one will never lose one's way in storms or bad weather, even when the way is not known".
