The rich history of the Imperial Link stretches back to the fourth century and the Byzantine era. Prosperity and wealth abounded and this chain was a way to show one's status. It was therefore not allowed to be worn by any ordinary person. Also called king link.
The dragon Nidhögg wound around the world tree Yggdrasil and gnawed at its roots. Old Norse dragons could have different appearances, sometimes snake-like, sometimes more dragon-like without wings. This is not a typical dragon from the Viking Age, but more what we associate with a dragon today.
