Agate is a protective crystal that is said to bring a sense of calm and harmony to its wearer, and it teaches us to like ourselves just as we are. Agate also provides strong protection against negative energy and strengthens self-confidence.

Agate is usually grey, red, pink or brownish red but can be any colour and is found all over the world. Dyed agate is also common. The name comes from Achates in Sicily where it was first discovered around 3000 years ago.
